During my field visit, I witnessed professional delegations from more than 20 countries and regions bringing their star environmental solutions to compete and communicate on-site.
Specifically, the German delegation focused its displays on core equipment for industrial wastewater treatment and industrial exhaust gas purification; the Japanese team presented mature localized environmental governance technologies adapted to complex domestic working conditions; the South Korean delegation showcased a full set of intelligent cloud-based environmental protection management solutions. Meanwhile, leading domestic environmental enterprises including Bishuiyuan, Beiji Water Services and Sander Environment stood alongside emerging tech-focused environmental protection startups. Exhibitors launched in-depth dialogues around wastewater evaporation treatment, solid waste reduction and digital environmental monitoring, jointly building a complete and interconnected global environmental protection industry ecosystem. It is worth mentioning that evaporation and drying equipment became one of the most watched segmented tracks on site, with mainstream manufacturers bringing optimized falling film evaporator, MVR evaporator and matched drying equipment tailored for high-salinity wastewater and solid waste residue treatment scenarios.

2. Core Exhibition Highlights: Cutting-edge Technologies Empower Full-industry Green Transformation

2.1 Dual Carbon Special Zone: Centralized Display of Carbon Reduction and Carbon Sequestration Practical Technologies

The specially built Dual Carbon Zone was the core highlight of the whole exhibition. It gathered a batch of mature and commercially available low-carbon technologies covering carbon nucleation equipment, CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage) systems and standardized carbon trading management platforms. On site, I learned that the integrated CCUS system launched by a leading energy enterprise can capture carbon dioxide generated by industrial flue gas and convert waste CO₂ into reusable chemical raw materials, realizing closed-loop carbon resource utilization. Besides, the intelligent carbon accounting platform exhibited by another manufacturer supports full-life-cycle precise calculation of enterprise carbon emissions, helping industrial clients formulate targeted carbon emission reduction plans.
A series of supporting offline forums were also held in this zone. Industry experts and enterprise technical directors shared practical landing paths under national dual-carbon policies, and reached a consensus that the environmental protection industry is accelerating the transformation from simple terminal pollution treatment to integrated solutions combining environmental governance and whole-process carbon reduction.

2.2 Intelligent Environmental Protection: Digital Technology Realizes Accurate and Automatic Pollution Governance

Digital and intelligent transformation has penetrated every scenario of environmental governance, completely changing the traditional working mode of the industry. Combined with big data, artificial intelligence and drone remote sensing technology, new intelligent environmental protection systems have achieved remarkable efficiency improvement.
The intelligent water quality management platform displayed onsite can realize 24-hour uninterrupted real-time monitoring of water quality indicators through distributed sensors. Once pipeline leakage or abnormal water quality fluctuation occurs, embedded AI algorithms will send early warning signals instantly without manual inspection. In terms of atmospheric monitoring, drone-borne pollutant detection systems boost the efficiency of air pollutant concentration detection by five times compared with traditional manual sampling methods. In general, digital technologies have helped environmental governance shift from passive emergency response after pollution incidents to active early warning and pre-control, becoming the core driving force of industrial upgrading.

2.3 Solid Waste Resource Utilization: Circular Economy Technologies Achieve Large-scale Commercial Application

Focusing on the national strategic requirement of solid waste reduction, harmless treatment and resource recycling, exhibitors displayed a full set of mature circular economy equipment covering kitchen waste, construction waste and domestic waste classification. The professional matched drying equipment is widely supporting the whole solid waste disposal process: after kitchen waste is subjected to solid-liquid separation and biochemical treatment, supporting drying units can further dehydrate waste residues to improve the yield of biodiesel and organic fertilizer, with the overall resource conversion rate stably reaching 85%.
In the construction waste disposal sector, integrated recycling production lines can crush waste concrete and construction slag into high-quality recycled aggregate that meets road construction standards. In addition, visual recognition-based automatic waste sorting robots replace repetitive manual sorting work, lifting sorting efficiency three times higher than manual operations. From terminal centralized disposal to source waste reduction, the whole solid waste industry has completed a key iterative upgrade.

2.4 Water Treatment: Shift from Terminal Treatment to Source Prevention, Evaporation Equipment Becomes Core for High-salinity Wastewater

Water treatment technology has bid farewell to single terminal purification mode, and source pollution prevention plus wastewater zero-discharge solutions have become the mainstream demand of industrial enterprises. Ultra-high efficiency membrane separation technology and energy-saving evaporation systems are two star technical directions in this field.
OriginWater launched its new generation of anti-fouling MBR membrane modules, which extend the service life to 5 years, improve wastewater treatment efficiency by 30% and cut overall system energy consumption by 20%. For hard-to-treat high-salinity industrial wastewater that cannot be handled by conventional membrane equipment, energy-saving evaporation systems represented by MVR evaporator and falling film evaporator have become indispensable core processing units on site. Compared with traditional single-effect evaporators, falling film evaporators feature lower evaporation temperature and smaller heat loss, suitable for heat-sensitive wastewater treatment; while MVR evaporators reuse secondary steam mechanically, greatly reducing operating energy consumption. Cooperated with supporting drying equipment, the combined evaporation and drying system can realize full recovery of wastewater and complete separation of salt residues, helping manufacturing enterprises fully meet industrial wastewater zero-discharge emission standards.

3. Three Major Clear Trends of Domestic Environmental Protection Industry Summarized from the Expo

Combining all displayed technologies, on-site forum viewpoints and enterprise layout directions during the exhibition, I sorted out three irreversible high-quality development trends of China’s environmental protection industry:
  1. Accelerated low-carbon transformation driven by dual-carbon goals: More environmental equipment manufacturers are optimizing energy consumption of core equipment such as evaporators and drying units. The industry business scope is expanding from traditional terminal pollution treatment to front-end source carbon reduction and whole-process carbon management services.
  2. Comprehensive intelligence of environmental governance: Digital technologies including big data, AI and remote sensing drones are fully integrated with physical environmental protection equipment. Intelligent operation and remote monitoring have become standard configurations for mainstream environmental protection projects, greatly reducing labor costs and improving governance accuracy.
  3. Popularization and normalization of circular economy mode: Waste-to-resource technologies cover water, solid waste and other core segments. Supporting evaporation and drying equipment promotes higher resource recovery rate of wastewater and waste residues, and the concept of turning industrial waste into available resources has been widely recognized by upstream and downstream enterprises.

4. On-site Communication and Industrial Cooperation: Build a Docking Platform for Global Environmental Partners
