    Description

Forced Circulation Evaporation Plants are designed to prevent fouling and crystallization during liquor boiling by maintaining a relatively high flow velocity within the heating tubes.

The circulating liquor is heated as it passes through the heat exchanger. It then enters a separator where a reduction in pressure causes partial evaporation, cooling the liquor to its boiling point at the corresponding pressure. During crystallization, crystals can be separated from the circulating slurry either by controlling the flow velocity or by employing a specially designed separator.

    Particular Feature
    • Long operating periods — evaporation takes place in the separator, and fouling in the calandria is therefore minimised.
    • Optimised heat exchange surface — flow velocity in the tubes determined by the circulation pump.
    Fields of Application
    • Liquid with a high tendency for fouling, highly viscous liquid, as the high-concentration step in multiple-effect evaporation plants.
    • Forced circulation evaporators are optimally suited as crystallising evaporators for saline solutions. In the course of crystallization, the crystal can be separated out through the velocity of the circulating flow or a separator of special design.

    Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Forced Circulation Evaporation Plant and how does it work?
A Forced Circulation Evaporation Plant uses a circulation pump to maintain a high flow velocity within heating tubes, preventing fouling and crystallization. The liquor is heated in a heat exchanger, then moves into a separator where a pressure drop causes partial evaporation, cooling the liquor to its boiling point at the corresponding pressure.
What industries can benefit from Forced Circulation Evaporators?
These evaporators are widely used across pharmaceuticals, chemicals, wastewater treatment, food & beverage, metallurgy, and any industry requiring concentration of high-viscosity, fouling-prone, or saline liquids at high concentrations.
How does forced circulation prevent fouling and scaling?
By maintaining a high flow velocity through the heating tubes via a dedicated circulation pump, the evaporation process is shifted to the separator vessel rather than occurring inside the tubes. This significantly minimises fouling and scaling on the heat exchange surfaces, extending operating periods and reducing maintenance frequency.
Can Forced Circulation Evaporators be used for crystallization processes?
Yes. Forced circulation evaporators are particularly well-suited for crystallization of saline solutions. During crystallization, crystals can be separated from the circulating slurry either by carefully controlling the flow velocity or through the use of a specially designed separator, allowing precise crystal size management.
What materials are used in Zongheng's Forced Circulation Evaporation Plants?
Zongheng's plants are built with high-grade, corrosion-resistant materials — primarily stainless steel — manufactured under strict quality control processes and rigorous testing protocols. This ensures long service life, structural reliability, and compliance with international quality and safety standards.
